best of 2014

I think this is my favorite because ebola was a big part of 2014 and effected not only the us but almost all of africa.
This was another favorite because i think this photo is very funny and i love ellen and all the people in this picture. Most of the people in this selfie i know and love.
This was also one of my favorites for 2014 because, the Ferguson shooting was very heard of and important to everyone around the United states. with protests happening everywhere.

1. In my opinion, the best song of 2014 was blank space by Taylor Swift because her new album 1989 is one of her best albums she has ever recorded, I thought for this being her first album that was not country she did pretty well with it . The song and music video is so catchy and easy to love. The song is so well done and really fits Taylor perfectly.
2. In my opinion, the best movie of 2014 was Mockingjay part 2 because that was one of my favorites and it was very well done. I liked how the movie really left me hanging, which it does all the time and in every movie. I love all the actors and it was intense and amazing.
3.  I think the most important news story of 2014 was the ebola story because ebola was huge in 2014. In Africa and Dallas, it was huge, and United States started freaking out a little bit because we have never faced anything like this and we all worried. In africa, it is major and people all around the world have been ignoring it until they are apart of it.
4. The most important person of 2014 was Beyonce because Beyonce is such an icon for women around the world and she is just such a boss at what she does. She has had a daughter and still looks amazing! She is just one of the best role models to everyone.
5. The biggest entertainment story of 2014 was Kim and Kanye's wedding. This wedding was so important and everyone knew about it. The Kardashians show, which everyone has heard of, showed the actual wedding in progress and it was an experience not to miss out.
1. One thing that i will remember from the winter break is all the amazing presents and just hanging out with my relatives and friends. I would say this was my favorite winter break.
2. My new years resolutions for this year is to stay more focused in school and get better grades and receive first place for my solo.
3. I am looking forward to the summer of 2015 because for dance we are going to nationals in Orlando, Florida and we are spending 2 weeks there.

magazine cover review

1. The name of this magazine in "Nature Thief", made by Jamie Council, from 2nd period.

2. I liked this magazine cover because the model's pose gives a good effect to the picture and it looks really fitting that she's smiling and looking off into the distance. I also liked how it is taken outdoors, and the use of a prop (the flower) to emphasize the fact that the magazine is about nature.

3. One thing Jamie could improve on is making the text/captions more visible and easier to read. Maybe use a different font.

4. I chose this cover mainly because I really like the model's pose and how it looks like she is mid-laugh, which Jamie caught with the camera.

5. Yes, there is a barcode on this magazine.

6. The barcode definitely makes it more magazine like because without it, it would look more like a picture with words, but the barcode pulls everything together and makes its motifs clear.

7. I know this photo is a portrait, not self portrait because I know that it's not Jamie. However, I think my opinion would not change if I did know because it seems as though it was taken near nature, which would make it harder to set up the camera with leaves, bushes and trees around.

5 websites

a.      I like how this specific website gives really good tips to help you take good photo… especially this photograph.  This specific photo is so cool. Its like I am looking everywhere. This picture out of all of the other ones caught my eye the most.

b.      This is photo definitely uses viewpoint, because it is at birds eye view.

c.     Jeff Meyers

a.      This photo definitely stood out to me  lot. You can't really tell that it is a stair case because the stairs are so light. It looks so cool spiraling down to the bottom.
b.      Since the stair case starts at the top and goes to the bottom it is looking down on it. It contains the rule viewpoint.

c.      Christian Richter

a.      This photo looked really cool with all of the sparkler dots in the air. Out of all of the photos this stood out to me the most.
b.       I see simplicity because it has a catching eye subject with just a dark simple background.

c.     Jenna (last name not mentioned)

1.The photo of brooke Landry throwing a knife.
a.It really got my attention and pulled me in, and it was the reason I chose to read it.
b.Framing through the fence and the target, simplicity because the background isn't distracting from the subject, and depth of field because the subject is deeper than the target.

2.The softball photo of Haley Walker.

a.The photographer didn't use a good shutter speed so the photo is a little blurry and the background takes the attention away from the subject.

3. I would've wanted to take photos for the musical because there are so many photo opportunities during it. It would an awesome way to get many good photographs.

4. I would say this issue is very good. the strong points were that the stories were good stories and that they were very current and appealed to the students. the weak points were that towards the end of certain articles, the text sort of dragged on and at the end of some of the articles, the stories didn't fully wrap up.

front pages of the world

This front page was my favorite because I found it interesting that it covered international news on the front page.

2. Flugzeug rammt Brücke, it is talking about the plane crash which was a very dramatic incident.
3. 8
4. All front pages usually have one large picture with large text for the headline in the center with smaller text under the picture for the article. There are other smaller photos and headlines surrounding the main article.
5. The main picture varies in size along with the number of smaller pictures and articles.

high school newspapers

1. My favorite newspaper front cover is Findlay High Schools B&G newspaper because i like  the layout of the newspaper is very nice and i like how the colors from the front page correspond throughout the newspaper.
2. I would say that the same newspaper from Findlay high school caught my eye the most because it the layout of the front cover is very well done and it just very well done in my opinion.
3. My favorite headline from this newspaper is the @ twitter takes over because twitter is used by just about every student everywhere and i personally really like twitter.
4. there are 4 stories on the front cover
5. They all have their titles of their front covers in the biggest fonts and it stands out and they each have a main photo with a main, big story.
6. Things that differ include font, colors, sizes of photos, sizes of headline, headlines in general.
7. Some high school newspapers were alike the ones from around the world but some of them were totally different.
