HDR image (2)

1.you would need to change the lighting to make 5 (or more) images different lightings.
2. you would need something that wouldn't move the camera (a tripod would probably work best).
3. they may take an HDR image to make a photo look more 3D.
4. all of the shadows and highlights will be very evident and it will look almost 3D.

final exam preview

Final Exam Preview Assignment

Using the second link, I watched a video on basic iMovie tricks. During the video, the woman talked about how to import video and images to iMovie program. She talked about how to use special effects.
In the first link, it lead me to Apple website and taught me how to use basic features on the program. It told me how to edit clips and add music and voiceovers. I found it interesting how to put a video clip on top of another which is really cool.

I already knew how to do basic things but i mainly knew how to import edit clips and export videos.

I didn't know how to put a video on top of another and I learned that on the website that lead me to Apple website.

I'm concerned that my video wont look very good because i don't know how to smooth up the cuts.

I can complete take pictures for the video early because I have my own camera at home.

I am thinking about taking my camera along with a friend of mine going to a dance competition and take pictures of the whole process.

iMovie Preview

1.    In this video/reading tutorial, I was taught many aspects of using the very technical and complicating iMovie. The first thing was obviously how to start a new project. There are a couple ways to do this. The key factors of using iMovie, as an overview, are knowing how to open, save and edit a project.
The woman demonstrating the aspects of iMovie was very helpful as she used multiple examples to portray all of iMovie's complex abilities. Some minor yet very rewarding things I learned how to do were certain details, such as adding cool effects like electricity and fairy dust, and changing the font and appearance of text of the screen.

2. One thing I had already previously known about iMovie is the fact that you have to select and drag the clips you want to use in your project in the spots that you want. I knew this because I have used the app once or twice.

3. Today, I learned many new things. One important thing that I learned is that connect your own camera/video device very easily, therefor enabling someone to add there own personal moments to a project.

4. Because iMovie is very technical and confusing, I am concerned that I may make the wrong move and all of my progress will be lost. Or, I will be clueless on how to use it.

5. I am confident that I will be able to complete the project in time and add all the fun and interesting details I would like.

6. Some possible themes I think i may do are a day in the life of my family or making of something

Nut Graf

In my opinion, a Nut Graf is the basis of the whole story and provides the roots and structure for the rest of the story. The use of the Nut Graf is very crucial to the story because it provides key information that intrigues readers to read on.

For readers, the Nut Graf is the purpose that the story is being read and is displayed in the second paragraph with further information on the 5 W's and H. With this additional information, a correct structure for the story as a whole.

Architecture preview 2

architecture shoot preview 2

details

While this shot isn't extremely close up, it actually is when compared to the entirety of the building. From this near perspective, we can see the panels that cover the outside of the whole building and take in their detail.

light:

This photo uses natural light to emphasize the dreamy and also very astonishing architecture of the building. It ads a sort of dramatic effect and really draws your attention.

patterns:

by capturing the repetitiveness of the seats in the arena, it adds more interest in the photo. the lines will draw people eyes in and it will also make the picture appear more intriguing.

angles and shapes:

different and uncommon shapes on buildings automatically make them more interesting to look at. emphasizing shapes and experimenting angles provides for a better picture.

surroundings

capturing a building in it's environment, such as this one, gives character to the building and helps define it. the natural centre of performing arts sticks out from it's surroundings since it's very classy as opposed to the houses around it.

iPhone extra credit

Sensory overload

I don't completely agree with this statement. I believe people define their environment by the actual buildings and not by the things we buy. Of course, sometimes we do think of the objects, but it depends on the person and place.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the photographs. They were visually pleasing and interesting to look at. As a photographer, it made me wish I could go somewhere as interesting as that to take pictures. If one of my parents worked at this place when I was a kid, I would always want to go to work with them and look around at all the colorful displays. It would be really fun to be a child of someone who worked at Commodity City.
My favorite photo was the one of the fake flower stand. It's really vibrant, and the way the flowers sort of frame the woman is really nice. I also like how the flowers cover the walls of the stand and take up most of the space in the stand.

iPhone warm up

1. It is a black and white picture with a boy and his father I'm guessing. it is very pretty.

2.  No, these photos look like they had to be taken with a professional, good camera.

3.  I'm pretty sure they used apps, it made a huge impact because they do not look anything like a picture that was taken with a phone.

4. The use of reflection and shooting from below helps make an i phone picture look amazing.

Architecture

Habitat 67
1. Moshe Safhdie built the Habitat 67.
2. Built in October of 1967.
3. It is located in Montreal, Canada, specifically on 2600 Av. Pierre-Dupuy next to the Saint Lawrence River.
4. Yes
5. Approximately $140,000 per unit
6. The Habitat 67 was built originally as a project for an architecture program
7. I chose Habitat 67 to research because it has multiple complexes which I think is very unique. Also, the name is creative and captured my attention as to why it is named Habitat 67. As I researched it, I liked learning about its reasons for development and its location. I think this architecture is very unique and I would absolutely visit it in person.

Kunsthaus Graz
1. Built by the "White Cube" team of architects
2. Built in 2003
3. Located in Graz, Austria
4. It can be visited, it's a museum
5. No information on the cost of the building
6. The Kunsthaus Graz was built to exhibit conventional cotexts
7. I chose this building to research because I am going to Austria this summer and I also went last summer. I think it is interesting to learn about some of the prized and special exhibits in Austria so I can become more educated. Also, after seeing the photo, it looked so strange that I had to know more about it.

Nautilus House:
Built by Javier Senosiain
Built in 2006
Located in Mexico City, Mexico
This place is private and a home to a family
There is no information available
This family that owns the house had a desire to be closer to nature and built their home based off of a shell structure.
I chose this building because the structure looked so unique and intriguing, and when I found out that it was someone's home, I had no know more. I love the bright colored used in the architecture and paint as it closely relates with nature. The fact that it is separated into chambers is also interesting.

Nord LB Building
Built by Behnisch
Built from 1997-2002
This is located in Hannover, Germany
This building is open to the public for visit and education
The cost of this being built is 244 million dollars
This building serves as an eco-friendly tourist destination
I chose to research this building because it has a very appealing appearance and is very attractive to tourists. I like how it is not just all one floor, but different levels with different structures. It is especially cool when the building is lit up at night, a very famous aspect of the building.

Atomium
Built by Andre and Jean Polak
Built in 1956
This structure is located in Laeken, Belgium
The structure is also open to the public for visits
There isn't information on how much it cost to build this structure
The architecture represents an elementary iron crystal that was enlarged one hundred and sixty five billion times.
I chose to research this building because its architecture caught my eye. I love how even though it looks delicate, it is functional and open to visitors. Also, it provides activities for tourists and visitors so I would love to participate in them.

best of 2014

I think this is my favorite because ebola was a big part of 2014 and effected not only the us but almost all of africa.
This was another favorite because i think this photo is very funny and i love ellen and all the people in this picture. Most of the people in this selfie i know and love.
This was also one of my favorites for 2014 because, the Ferguson shooting was very heard of and important to everyone around the United states. with protests happening everywhere.

1. In my opinion, the best song of 2014 was blank space by Taylor Swift because her new album 1989 is one of her best albums she has ever recorded, I thought for this being her first album that was not country she did pretty well with it . The song and music video is so catchy and easy to love. The song is so well done and really fits Taylor perfectly.
2. In my opinion, the best movie of 2014 was Mockingjay part 2 because that was one of my favorites and it was very well done. I liked how the movie really left me hanging, which it does all the time and in every movie. I love all the actors and it was intense and amazing.
3.  I think the most important news story of 2014 was the ebola story because ebola was huge in 2014. In Africa and Dallas, it was huge, and United States started freaking out a little bit because we have never faced anything like this and we all worried. In africa, it is major and people all around the world have been ignoring it until they are apart of it.
4. The most important person of 2014 was Beyonce because Beyonce is such an icon for women around the world and she is just such a boss at what she does. She has had a daughter and still looks amazing! She is just one of the best role models to everyone.
5. The biggest entertainment story of 2014 was Kim and Kanye's wedding. This wedding was so important and everyone knew about it. The Kardashians show, which everyone has heard of, showed the actual wedding in progress and it was an experience not to miss out.
1. One thing that i will remember from the winter break is all the amazing presents and just hanging out with my relatives and friends. I would say this was my favorite winter break.
2. My new years resolutions for this year is to stay more focused in school and get better grades and receive first place for my solo.
3. I am looking forward to the summer of 2015 because for dance we are going to nationals in Orlando, Florida and we are spending 2 weeks there.

magazine cover review

1. The name of this magazine in "Nature Thief", made by Jamie Council, from 2nd period.

2. I liked this magazine cover because the model's pose gives a good effect to the picture and it looks really fitting that she's smiling and looking off into the distance. I also liked how it is taken outdoors, and the use of a prop (the flower) to emphasize the fact that the magazine is about nature.

3. One thing Jamie could improve on is making the text/captions more visible and easier to read. Maybe use a different font.

4. I chose this cover mainly because I really like the model's pose and how it looks like she is mid-laugh, which Jamie caught with the camera.

5. Yes, there is a barcode on this magazine.

6. The barcode definitely makes it more magazine like because without it, it would look more like a picture with words, but the barcode pulls everything together and makes its motifs clear.

7. I know this photo is a portrait, not self portrait because I know that it's not Jamie. However, I think my opinion would not change if I did know because it seems as though it was taken near nature, which would make it harder to set up the camera with leaves, bushes and trees around.

5 websites

a.      I like how this specific website gives really good tips to help you take good photo… especially this photograph.  This specific photo is so cool. Its like I am looking everywhere. This picture out of all of the other ones caught my eye the most.

b.      This is photo definitely uses viewpoint, because it is at birds eye view.

c.     Jeff Meyers

a.      This photo definitely stood out to me  lot. You can't really tell that it is a stair case because the stairs are so light. It looks so cool spiraling down to the bottom.
b.      Since the stair case starts at the top and goes to the bottom it is looking down on it. It contains the rule viewpoint.

c.      Christian Richter

a.      This photo looked really cool with all of the sparkler dots in the air. Out of all of the photos this stood out to me the most.
b.       I see simplicity because it has a catching eye subject with just a dark simple background.

c.     Jenna (last name not mentioned)

If you did a tutorial please answer the following questions:

a.      I learned the beginner steps to modeling.

b.     When taking portraits and self portraits. Maybe prompt shoots too.

c.   Yes it expanded my knowledge.
